United Hospital Fund held its 2013 Hospital Auxilian and Volunteer Achievement Award at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Approximately 80 New York City hospital volunteers were honored.

In the Harlem community, awardees included Lulu Kings from Harlem Hospital Center and Gideon Manasseh, auxiliary president of Renaissance HealthCare Network Diagnostic Treatment Center, who has 20-plus years of volunteer service at Renaissance HealthCare Network in Harlem. Said Manasseh, “My intention was to serve as a volunteer for a few months, and that turned into more than 20 years of volunteer service. It’s good to give back to a community that has given you so much.”

The afternoon’s keynote speaker was Cheryl Wills of NY1 News.
