The month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

As part of an effort to promote awareness and raise consciousness when it comes to discussing what has long been a taboo topic in the African-American community, New York public relations guru Terrie Williams is featured on the current cover of a Florida-based social magazine.

Williams graces the cover of the May issue of the popular lifestyle publication Fine Success and discusses her battle with the illness of depression and other mental health issues. Williams is also the author of the best-selling book “Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We’re Not Hurting.” Williams has long been an advocate of mental health issues and has traveled across the country promoting issues related to their treatment.

” We must continue to talk about our unresolved issues and call it what it is and ask for the help we need,” said Williams. “Counseling is the gift that keeps giving!”
