The Small & Emerging Business Expo & Silent Auction was a wonderful event designed to target existing small, emerging, native and immigrant start-up businesses. The event gave them the opportunity to present products and services, network with other business owners and obtain information about existing supportive resources. The program was designed to highlight, promote and provide access to resources to small and emerging businesses that are rapidly developing on the North Shore of Staten Island.
The Central Family Life Center simply wanted to fulfill its mission to exist as a resource and provide a safe environment for community members of all ages to obtain quality programs and services both on Staten Island and borough-wide.
The expo featured seminars and presentations designed to support and help small and emerging businesses grow. For example, the “Show Me the Money” seminar showcased the need for access to capital and featured panelists who specialize in microfinance lending and technical support; the “Grow Your Network” seminar featured community groups and industry panelists who highlighted how businesses can expand their network of collaborators and potential client base.
There was also a silent art auction that displayed the artistic and cultural talent of many celebrated local and national artists.
