They couldn’t stop grinning. And the love kept coming from a huge crowd viewing the press conference from the plaza at the main entrance of the Barclays Center on Atlantic Avenue.

Inside the building, another huge crowd watched the trio of former Celtics stars whom they—along with Nets management—hope will lead the Nets to the playoffs and beyond. So it became official—the signing of future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who brought along Jason Terry, the shooting guard who recently moved from Dallas to Boston, and now the Nets.

It was a great “get” for General Manager Billy King, the guiding force behind the Nets, as he continues to show his top five general manager chops.

Terry will be backing up Deron Williams as well.

It appeared as though every writer in town turned out for the conference, which was packed with fans.

“Wow, I never thought something like this could happen, “ said a fan. “I love this building. I saw about 20 games this season,” he said, noting, “That’s all I could afford.”

Mikhhail Prokhorov continues to show how badly he wants too win. “We’re getting there,” he whispered to a reporter.

Jason Kidd had best be on his game. No longer wearing shorts, Kidd has shown that he will quickly pull the trigger and make changes on the bench.
