R&B singers Tweet and Glen Lewis recently took the stage as part of the “RnB Spotlight” series held at SOB’s in SoHo. Both performed their well known hits as well as discussing their upcoming albums.

The event also featured singers Allen Simms, Sanura, Bria Marie and Amma What. Multi-platinum producers Carvin and Ivan were also in the house to discuss the state of R&B music and their own upcoming projects.

Hosted by Gary Gentles of “Singersroom,” “RnB Spotlight” features well-known and up and coming R&B and neo-soul artists in partnership with VIBE Magazine. Along with hosting events at SOBs, the series has also occupied the stage at Howard University in Washington, DC.

Tweet, best known for her 2002 album Southern Hummingbird, graced the stage to a full house singing her hit singles “Oops (Oh My)” and “Boogie 2nite.” She also sang new music from her latest EP Simply Tweet, which she released in February. Her third album is scheduled for release in the coming months.

Lewis had the audience in a daze with his “Stevie Wonder-style” voice singing his 2001 hit song “Don’t You Forget It” from his album World Outside My Window. The Canadian-born singer is scheduled to release his second album, Moment of Truth, on Oct. 15. He released the first single from the new album, “Can’t Say Love” in April.

Previous artists featured in the “RnB Spotlight” series include Musiq Soulchild, Sunshine Anderson, Mario Winans and Monifah. Go to www.rnbspotlight.com for more info.
