Oct. 21 was a busy day for Kanye West. First, the rapper presented the Hollywood Breakout Director Award to “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. “12 Years A Slave” star Lupita Nyong’o was also honored with the new Hollywood Award. Later that night, West hopped a plane to San Francisco, where he rented out AT&T Park, hired an orchestra and proposed to his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, who was celebrating her 33rd birthday, with a 15-carat diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz. West asked her mom, Kris Jenner, for Kardashian’s hand in marriage as “Will you please marry me?” flashed on the Jumbotron.

CeeLo Green pled not guilty to felony drug charges in court on Oct. 21 just hours after those charges were filed and sexual assault charges were dropped. The singer is accused of furnishing ecstasy, which is a felony and is punishable by up to four years in prison. His next court date is set for Nov. 20.

I don’t normally toot my own horn, but Great Women in Music has joined together with the handsome Wayne Maxwell, CEO of Maxwell Entertainment, to celebrate the upcoming release of my new novel, “Deadly Stuff Players,” on Oct. 25. Although the Hollywood murder mystery doesn’t go on sale until Nov. 19, I will be reading excerpts from it. Master P’s wife, Sonya Miller, has filed for divorce in which she seeks to end her 24-year marriage based on the standard irreconcilable differences. The couple has four minor children, and she wants full custody. Back in 2011, Miller sought child support but never filed divorce papers. Sources say the two have been separated for a long time, and Master P is rumored to have a girlfriend.

In Touch magazine got a hold of Beyoncé’s hospitality rider from a recent video shoot. It’s actually very tame compared to other riders I’ve seen in the past. In addition to requiring an all-white room and a constant 72-degree room temperature, Mrs. Carter demands two bars of Irish Spring soap, one jar of green olives, one bag of Cheetos, a jar of Jif peanut butter, a jar of Smuckers grape jelly and eight bananas.
