Harlem residents and officials gathered at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building Plaza on Tuesday for the Annual Harlem Tree Lighting Ceremony, hosted by the state’s Office of General Services.

There were live performances by new sensation girl group, Girls Being Girls (formerly Eluminum), R&B songstress Alyson Williams and Amina Buddafly of Love & Hip Hop.

Santa Claus was on hand along with a motorized train taking trips around the plaza. The Salvation Army gave away free cookies and hot chocolate.

Performers and the crowd sang Christmas carols before flipping the switch and lighting the tree.
