Family members, concerned citizens, clergy and community leaders are demanding an investigation into conditions at Brooklyn Central Booking after the death of 37-year-old Kyam Livingston. The event will take place at Flatbush Reform Church, located at 890 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn, on Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.

According to witnesses, over a seven-hour period, Livingston suffered from extreme stomach pains, diarrhea and convulsions. However, NYPD officers on duty that night repeatedly denied Livingston’s pleas for medical aid. Witnesses further report that Livingston had been dead for 20 minutes before Emergency Medical Services arrived.

On the six-month anniversary of Livingston’s death, her family members, along with concerned citizens, clergy and community leaders, will come before elected officials to shed light on the inhumane conditions everyday citizens are being subjected to in city jails and NYPD lockup facilities throughout the five boroughs and to demand a full investigation of Brooklyn Central Booking.
