The 2014 New Taste of the Upper West Side will be back this May with an incredible lineup of both new and returning restaurants, notable chefs and star-studded hosts for an unforgettable three-night culinary celebration. This one-of-a-kind event created by the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District will donate all net proceeds from the weekend to the community for neighborhood improvement and beautification projects, such as the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District’s sustainable streetscape project, Wellness in the Schools program and Theodore Roosevelt Park Fund.
The festivities begin with “Soirée in the Park” on Tuesday, May 27 in Theodore Roosevelt Park at the American Museum of Natural History, where guests will enjoy live music, champagne and hors d’oeuvres prepared by local chefs. Friday, May 30 marks the annual “Comfort Classics,” hosted by the Travel Channel’s Adam Richman and Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. They will oversee 40 restaurants from the Upper West Side showcasing their most innovative comfort dishes and competing to win this year’s “Best Comfort Food Dish” award.
The weekend culminates on Saturday with “Best of the West,” where culinary stars come out at night to present the finest of what the Upper West Side has to offer. The evening will culminate with a tribute to world-renowned chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud.
