On May 1, a dozen Harlem-based college prep organizations and over 100 students will announce which colleges they plan to attend. National College Decision Day marks the deadline for highschool seniors to select the colleges they plan to attend. To help mark the occasion, Citibank and the New York College Collective are hosting the annual National College Decision Day draft event. The event is designed to promote a college-going culture and raise awareness about the importance of college access organizations in the city. Family and friends of the students are expected to cheer on the students at the event. Schools the students have been accepted to include several historically Black institutions such as Howard University, Spelman College and Virginia State University.
