Councilmember Inez D. Barron, in partnership with local community outreach organization ManUp!, have called the community to attention. Wednesday June 4 at 6:30pm, there will be an East New York town hall meeting.

The theme, “Defending our Children,” was chosen as a way to address the stabbing of two local children on Sunday June 1, in their apartment complex elevator.

The agenda for the town hall meeting will include a police department update on the hunt for the assailant; what the community can do to provide assistance; and a report on the recent spike in violent assaults in the neighborhood.

Afterward there will be a questions–and–answers session with the public.

The meeting is being held at the George Gershwin School (JHS 166), on 800 Van Siclen Avenue (off Linden Blvd).
