#Hands Up, #Donโt Shoot
About 200 peaceful protestors gathered last night in Morningside Park to speak out against police brutality. They join a nationwide movement in the wake of murders of young black men like the unarmed teen Michael Brown of Ferguson, Missouri and Eric Garner on Staten Island by police. Blogger Feminista Jones [@feminstajones] led the charge uptown.

More Charter Schools for Harlem?
DNAinfo reports that a trio of new charter schools are set to open in Harlem. All three, including an all-boys school, hope to open their doors next fall. Two will request co-locating in public schoolsโa practice that has sparked protest all over the city.
