PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (Sept. 11)—Keith Chin is the new chief executive officer of the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
“It is a pleasure to be given this opportunity to serve my country in this capacity, and I look forward to working with the dynamic team at the Tourism Development Company in making Trinidad and Tobago the Caribbean’s premier destination of choice,” said Chin.
Chin takes over from acting CEO Yolande Selman, who continues her duties as general manager of product development.
With more than 32 years of experience in middle and senior executive management roles at several private and public sector organizations, Chin brings to his new post experience in business planning and development, corporate and strategic planning, marketing, human resources and general management.
The Tourism Development Company’s board of directors, management and staff welcomed Chin in his new role and are looking to him for leadership in further developing the Trinidad and Tobago brand.
Across the Caribbean Sea, Sandals Resorts appointed Andre Dhanpaul as the new regional director of its Eastern Caribbean office in St. Lucia. Dhanpaul is the former general manager at Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa.
He replaces Jeremy Jones, who was elevated to the company’s head office in Jamaica, where he is now tasked with supporting the group-wide responsibilities of the company.
Dhanpaul has more than 25 years in the hospitality industry and brings a uniquely systematic management style and financial background to the office.
“It has been a great welcome to the Eastern Caribbean. I am looking forward to continuing the growth of Sandals in this part of the Caribbean. Some of the world’s most beautiful countries are here,” Dhanpaul said.
Described as a man with a keen eye for detail, the new regional director is also considered a great fit for the expanding Sandals Resort’s Eastern Caribbean portfolio.
Sandals CEO Adam Stewart said, “With the addition of Grenada and Barbados and more on the horizon, Andre and his Eastern Caribbean team are tasked with building the brand’s presence in the region, with a view to mapping and executing further gains.”
