The second annual “Evenings of Excellence” series will be held at the Miramar Cultural Center in the Miami area and Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn this fall.
Organizers confirmed that Tuesday, Oct. 21, the empowering event will be held at the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market, a venue created to celebrate creativity and diversity within the city. The empowering series then moves to New York Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the popular Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, one of the city’s dynamic worship and spiritual growth centers.
Both events, sponsored by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, are free and will feature presentations by Caribbean author, economist and motivational speaker Zhivargo Laing, who will be joined by other community notables to deliver inspiring messages of personal empowerment and economic prosperity.
To be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the overarching theme for the “Evenings of Excellence” will be building and leveraging the intellectual, financial, spiritual and cultural strength of the Caribbean- and African-American communities.
Attendees will enjoy musical entertainment and participate in hotel prize giveaways during the event, which will also include an awards component. Four individuals will receive the Caribbean Media Exchange Leadership Award.
