Only smiles and white coats were seen on stage at the Harlem Hospital Center School of Radiologic Technology class of 2014 graduation on October 3rd.

The 24th graduation exercise wasn’t a stuffy affair. It began with a prayer and the friends, family and faculty watching a video montage of pictures taken of the graduates during their time at Harlem Hospital. Then a current student of the two-year program escorted in each graduate to the stage.

The Executive Director of Harlem Hospital Center, Denise C. Soares, began her speech to the students by saying, “Congratulations.” When no one replied she repeated herself, which led to roaring laughter and a chorus of “Thank you” from the graduates.

She spoke of their success, future endeavors and ended by saying, “The patients don’t care how much you know, if they don’t know how much you care.”
