For the holidays, Fashion Pakistan USA celebrated their second year of designer shows at their prestigious 05 Studio, located at 509 W. 34th St. in New York City, Nov. 28 and 29. This year, their runway lineup introduced four design houses, including both established and emerging Pakistani designers. Several runway shows and fun-filled after-events were also scheduled. Fashion Pakistan USA strives to bridge strong connections between the people of Pakistan and U.S. by introducing and showcasing their traditions and heritage of fashion to each other.
Notable couture designers include Ali Xeeshan, Nickle Nina, Maria B, and Naadz. Xeeshan specializes in luxury pret and bridal wear. With a design philosophy that’s tuned to treat every outfit as an individual piece of art, his inspiration comes from a strong cultural heritage and international friends. His clothes are beautifully embellished in unconventional techniques in a unique color palette.
Nickle Nina is run by two art directors, Nickie Ali and Nina Junaid. The fashion brand stands as one of the pioneers of Eastern haute couture in Pakistan. Each of the collections offers an individual look. Cuts are unconventional with traditional embellishments. When they are combined together, the pieces are timeless, original and stylish.
Maria B, a jewelry designer based in the U.S., has created a fashion revolution with her exquisite designs. Her clothes are chic. She produces high-quality garments with international standards. Her focus is on bridal gowns, casual clothes and evening wear.
Naadz’s collections are inspired by fashion and her European travels through the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Through her travels, she has rediscovered cultural values that have been passed down through generations. Based in the U.S., Naadz also carries prominent jewelry lines that bring the classics to life with unique organic designs. Each of their pieces tell a story of heritage and feature expressions from around the globe.
