Leaders in Lipstick (LIL) is a new organization on the block that encourages all women to achieve their career goals. Founded in Harlem, LIL has been supporting women and their goals through workshops and tea parties. Next, the organization plans on proving luxury to the community during their first ever LIL Pamper Party.
The 24 year old founder of LIL Nate’ Jones is following millennial start-up trend by creating her own opportunities. The former model and Detroit native saw a void amongst women encouraging each other especially in the entertainment industry. In an industry that is compiled of women competing towards similar goals it can be easier to hate on one another than to encourage each another. With social media being so prevalent it is much more acceptable to scroll past another women and sneer when she is succeeding instead of simply clicking “Like”.
Jones says “Growing up in a house full of females is where I grew a passion for women’s overall growth as sisters, not competitors. My dream is to uplift women to the Queen position in which we started.”
LIL hosts a series of events from monthly workshop to tea parties, where goal oriented women can meet, network and uplift one another to push for their career goals. On December 10, Carols Daughter flag ship store in Harlem will host a Pamper Party with LIL, featuring manicures, massages, and makeup applications. They have managed to acquire some pretty amazing sponsors from Ciroc to Figure Friendly desserts. This is definitely a party you don’t want to miss. Did I mention the best part ?
