Comedian Buttahman takes the stage this weekend at The Stand NYC.

The showcase takes place on Saturday, December 13 at 6 p.m. Buttahman is performing in the “Laughing Buddha Comedy” show.

Best-known as former host of MTV’s “Hood Fab” and current Director of Music for BET, Buttahman’s comedy touches on issues ranging from pop culture to personal experiences in the entertainment industry.

On the comedy circuit he’s gaining notoriety as the first openly gay comedian from hip hop also touching on homophobia and his journey since coming out two years ago.

Buttahman started his career in radio in Baltimore on 92Q Jams WERQ after graduating from the historically Black Morgan State University. He began performing at open mic nights around Baltimore at various clubs.

During his stand up career he’s performed at Eve’s Lounge in Brooklyn, Silvana in Harlem and the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
