Cherry Lou Jenkins entered into eternal rest at her home in Charleston, S.C., Thursday, Jan. 22. Jenkins was a retired caregiver. She was 92 years old.

Jenkins was the matriarch of a large family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloise and Israel; her brother, James Fickling; her former husbands, George Dean and Vander Jenkins; her sister Viola Causion; three of her sons, Lorenzo, Robert and Vernon; and her aunt, Anna Williams.

She leaves to mourn her sons, Elbert and Ismail; her beloved sister, Thelma; her cousin, Samuel; six daughters-in-law, Sandra, Venice, Ruth, Darlene, Torri and Loretta; her nieces, Emily, Gwendolyn and Shirley; her nephews, Rahim (Kenneth), George and Arnold; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, many other relatives, her church family and a host of friends.

Services were held at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church in Charleston, S.C., Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family through the W.M. Smith-McNeal Funeral Home, 2 Radcliffe St., Charleston, S.C. 29403.
