Jan. 31 in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., Jimi Holloway held his annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner honoring nine individuals. This special event, held in past years at the New York Hilton Hotel in Manhattan, was held this year at the Terrrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows.

The bitter cold and snow did not dampen the evening for the finely attired men and women who attended the event, dancing into early morning hours to DJ Jerome.

Jimi Holloway Productions strongly promotes the importance of reflecting on our past, serving our community and celebrating our accomplishments.

Holloway said, “Over the years, we have honored several special individuals in our community for their various contributions. This year is no exception. Today, we have the distinct privilege of acknowledge nine outstanding honorees: Honorable Tanya R. Kennedy, Charles McCray, Gwyn Worthy-Brown, Wolfgang Busch, Larry Love Moore, Dr. Monica Sanchez, Charles Conner, Larry Love Moore and Richard Washington, aka Rodeo Rich, a retired U.S. Army veteran and cowboy. Their achievements in the areas of law, business, the arts and service embody the spirit, goals and mission of our forefathers. The 2015 honorees freely service those less fortunate in our community with their God-given talents. They are still keeping the legacy of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks stood for by keeping the dream alive.”

He added, “Join us as we acknowledge their achievement and celebrate their contributions. Tonight, from the award presentation, fashion show, comedy show, birthday bash, retirement acknowledgment, live entertainment and dancing to various music genres, we are destined to have a night to be remembered.”
