Supporters of Rep. Charles Rangel attended a fundraiser at Sylvia’s Also Restaurant in Harlem. The guest attendees, predominately African-Americans, also included a cross network of New Yorkers, including the Korean American Association of Greater New York, which praised Rangel’s service in the Korean War in 1951. He received a Purple Heart after being wounded in battle. The mistress of ceremonies was Councilwomen Inez Dickens.
