Children from the ages of 4 to 12 will be able to attend the Artscape Summer Camp at the famous Harlem School of the Arts. The Harlem School of the Arts exposes young people to all things artistic. The school has various departments, including music, theater, visual art and dance. The Artscape program runs for six weeks, although it’s split into three two-week sessions. During the summer program, the children will be have the opportunity to immerse themselves in different arts, and they will learn to embrace their inner creativity. There is a variety of fun-filled themes for every week during the camp, such as “Technology” and “Fun & Fitness.”

Besides taking the classes, students are taken on daily trips. They have variety of workshops and the opportunity to be visited by various companies. Even though the summer camp is only open to children, the Harlem School of the Arts is open to adolescents as well.

The school’s benefactor is the Herb Alpert Center. This institution helps youths by providing financial aid and merit scholarships for those who need them most. The camp runs July 6 to Aug. 14. For more information, log on to www.HSAnyc.org.
