It’s perfectly acceptable to admit to being a “binge watcher,” and I openly blame Netflix, or applaud Netflix, depending on which side of the coin you wish to view this new global obsession.

Since starting this column, my inbox has been slammed with links to everything, but one email caught my eye because it provided a provocative question: “What would it be like to have seven other selves?”

Like any good dealer, the crafty marketing geniuses have provided a “taste” of what it means to be a “Sensate” and sent me a link with a first look of images and the trailer from the Netflix original series ”Sense8.”

Binge watchers will rejoice because all 12 episodes of the global dramatic thriller will launch Friday, June 5 in all Netflix territories around the world.

Do you recall the chill that raced up and down your spine when you were first introduced to the character Trinity, stopping in mid-air before kicking serious ass in “The Matrix”? “Sense8” is going to be that good because it comes from the unparalleled creative minds of the Wachowskis (“The Matrix” trilogy, ”Cloud Atlas”) and J. Michael Straczynski (Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling,” “World War Z”), as well as Grant Hill (“The Matrix” trilogy, “Cloud Atlas”).

“Sense8” is a gripping story of eight people from around the world whose lives are suddenly and inexplicably connected in a fight for their own survival, asking the question again, “What would it be like to have seven other selves?” with the answer coming soon, only on Netflix.
