The Atlantic Yards/NETS/DBNA Community Foundation and the Downtown Brooklyn Neighborhood Alliance Capacity Building Grant Program will hold their first ever awards ceremony Thursday, July 30 at Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St., Brooklyn, N.Y. The ceremony will honor and celebrate Brooklyn-based organizations that have been selected to receive grants.

The Rev. Dr. Herbert Daughtry, the Founding chairman of the Downtown Brooklyn Neighborhood Alliance, said, “I want to congratulate the awardees. I’m grateful to Greenland Forest City Partners, the Atlantic Yards/NETS/DBNA Community Foundation Board of Directors and the DBNA staff for bringing this momentous occasion to pass. We have tried and succeeded in assisting organizations who are doing great work but do not get the necessary funds or recognition they deserve. This is the first, and I know we will assist many more organizations as the years go by.”

The goal of the Atlantic Yards/NETS/DBNA Community Foundation and the DBNA Capacity Building Grant Program is to support not-for-profit organizations that actively foster economic self-sufficiency through workforce development and business skills training, as well as through prison re-entry initiatives, youth, child and health services programs and environmental sustainability efforts.
