At Paper London’s Berlin Fashion Week Show, the look was modern sleek. Silhouettes were clean and sharp with an emphasis on graphic and bold intarsia knits. Their collections have a crisp, confident edge inspired by the personality of luxurious textured fabrics and the use of vibrant color palettes. Led by founders Kelly Townsend, the company’s creative director, and Phillipa Thackeray, Paper London takes pride in excellent manufacturing and its British roots. Each garment is produced in London.

Vogue named Townsend “one to watch.” She is a graduate of Central St. Martin’s. Before starting Paper London with her partner, Townsend worked for Temperly as a senior knitwear designer for six years. Her partner Thackeray worked as a lawyer advising a British luxury fashion brands.

Paper London has been very well received in both the U.K. and the international press. Their celebrity following includes Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson, Taylor Swift and Solange Knowles.

Designer Anne Gorke’s designs featured pure architectural lines and sleek elegance. There’s a soft touch of femininity and an ironic twist in her collection. Founded in 2012, her company is based in Weimar, where the Bauhaus originated and still offers an exciting, young design scene. For autumn-winter, her clothes exude an effortless, modular design system for the complex life of today’s contemporary women.

In this collection, the designer’s form follows the emotion, idea and inspiration of the day. “3 x 3 x 3” is the magic formula of the Gorke woman. “It’s all you need in every situation,” she explained. “You just have to dress and play with it, whether you feel casual, feminine or pure. An elegant sweater dress, a pleated dress, a shift dress and a shirt dress all come in three variations that will suit your mood and your occasion.”

This season, the fashion attitude is to “simplify and feel good” in your clothes. Her collection is designed in a medley of wool, silk, fleece, flannel and organic cotton that tells a vibrant love story. Produced exclusively in high-quality textiles and leathers, Gorke’s collections are 100 percent eco-friendly and made in Germany. Good Show!
