Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Carey Gabay, an aide to Governor Andrew Cuomo who was shot in Brooklyn over Labor Day Weekend.
Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 25th and Saturday, Sept. 26th, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Clinton Hill, where Carey and his wife, Trenelle, are members of the congregation. The church is located at 279 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 25 at 2 pm – 6 pm followed by a wake from 6pm to 8pm. On Saturday, Sept. 26 a private funeral and burial will be held.
“Carey Gabay, our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on September 15th.” the family said in a statement. “A talented lawyer and public servant, Carey, 43, was taken away from us too soon after he was the innocent victim of senseless violence. He is no longer with us but his legacy will live on.”
