Macy's Presents Fashion's Front Row at the Theater at Madison Square Garden (163585)

Macy’s magnificent turnout at the Theater at Madison Square Garden for “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” was memorable. The store put on quite a fashion and musical spectacular last Thursday evening.

Along with the fashions on the runway were entertaining performances by Grammy Award winner Nate Ruess and Jason Derulo. Tickets sales from the Sept. 17 event benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Council of Fashion of Designers of America Foundation. The show aired nationwide on E! Sept. 23. While watching the show and using a special one-night code, folks were able to purchase clothes shown on the runway by simply going to macys.com/shopfrontrow. Also, from Sept. 24 to 26, “Fashion’s Front Row”will extend to fabulous in-store events at Macy’s flagship locations in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco.

It wasn’t just another dose of star power—it was Macy’s way of showing the public high fashion on the runway. The features collections included Sean John, Heidi by Heidi Klum Intimates, Hello Kitty, I.N.C. International Concepts, Jessica Simpson, Levi’s, Ryan Seacrest Distinction, Thalia Sodi and Tommy Hilfiger. Macy’s Impulse brand featured Rachel Roy and the designers of Nineteenth Amendment.

“We are thrilled to celebrate New York Fashion Week with a spectacular event that will bring the high-fashioned fashion runway closer to fans everywhere,” said Martine Rearden, Macy’s chief marketing officer. “‘Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row’ will ignite the catwalk in a celebration of fashion and music, featuring the hottest styles for fall, as fantastic music and dance performances that make the elusive front row seat during Fashion Week a possibility for all.”

Applause! Applause! The runway showing was extremely exciting! Sean John’s street style segment received much applause, as some of their models danced down the runway. Levi Straus showed the most fashionable way to wear your jeans this season. Tommy Hilfiger’s classics mixed sportswear with athletic gear. His jackets, coats and striped sweaters were comfortable.

Ryan Seacrest Distinction displayed well-tailored suit looks and dress shirts for men. Jessica Simpson focused on the black dress. Thalia Sodi added sass with her gold jackets and slimming animal print skirts. Heidi Klum’s intimate apparel showed off the bare essentials. The Hello Kitty group stole the show.

Amid all the runway glamour, Ruess performed songs from his “Grand Romantic” album. Folks in the audience sang along enthusiastically. Derulo performed several of his impressive string of hits, which drove the audience wild. Surprisingly, this editor recognized his songs, too.

Good Show!
