The United Palace House of Inspiration is hosting the “Gathering,” a live concert featuring Kelly Price and Kenny Lattimore, Friday, Oct. 16, starting at 7 p.m., at the United Palace Theatre, located at 4140 Broadway at 175th Street in Manhattan.
Heading the lineup is seven-time Grammy nominated R&B and gospel singer, songwriter and actress Kelly Price. Price, a mezzo-soprano, has been called an “urban crooner” and a cross between a “streetwise Mariah Carey” and “a domesticated Mary J. Blige.” She has earned songwriting or background vocal credits for her work with such performers as Carey, Whitney Houston, Tatyana Ali, Faith Evans, R. Kelly and the Notorious B.I.G., among others.
Lattimore is also taking the stage. The Grammy-nominated singer is best known for his 1997 hit single “For You.” His latest album is “Anatomy of a Love Song.”
The R&B singer is also known for his dramatic stage shows, vocal agility and romantic ambiance. Lattimore has long established in interviews his personal mission to show the “strong but sensitive and caring side of Black men.”
Also performing are Safari Voices International from Kenya; Nuhjume, the trio from Singers Taking Action Reaching Souls; and Tim McAfee-Lewis and the UPHI Inspirational Choir.
