Funeral services were held recently for Dolores Eaton, mother of Geoffrey Eaton, who is deputy chief of staff for Congressman Charlie Rangel and president of the NAACP Mid-Manhattan Branch. Services were held at Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem. Elected officials and community leaders spoke at the funeral, including Rangel, Assemblyman Keith Wright, Councilwoman Inez Dickens, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Jackie Rowe Adams of Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. and Dr. Hazel Dukes, president of the New York State Branches of the NAACP. Eaton died Dec. 27 at the age of 76.
