New York-based Nicholas K presented a modern, softly styled collection for spring/summer ’16. Often, the term “urban nomad” is used to describe the brand. The looks are aesthetically reminiscent of the title, and these pieces include hooded habits, pants, long skirts, dresses and jumpsuits. A product of the sister and brother team Nicholas Kunz and Christopher Kunz, Nicholas K designs harbor a deep connection to nature. The brand is an expression of a desire for new experience and travel, and the looks offer intense energy with the beauty and style.
Demoo Parkchoonmoo showed industrial, rooted designs that have defined her compelling aesthetic. Designer Demi Choonmoo Park has been in the forefront of Korean avant-garde design since 1988. It was then that her label Demoo was created. Today, her label Demoo Parkchoonmoo is extremely successful. Born in the town of Kimje, South Korea, she grew up in a family that owned a children’s apparel company. She was fascinated by the transformative and reflective nature of clothing and it’s when her love for fashion began. Her looks were cleverly cut, yet conservative in style.
Ohne Titel, another New York-based women’s wear line, is designed by Alexa Adams and Flora Gill. For spring/summer’16, their clothes are colorful, exciting and sophisticated. The designers met in 1990 while attending Parson’s School of Design. They both worked for Karl Lagerfeld. The label Ohne Titel pairs architectural shapes and soft draping with an eye for intricate detail. Their looks are a combination of sleek, tailored and feminine silhouettes. Their colors are strong and their styles have an athletic undertone.
