There is a new hot couple in the neighborhood. Both residents of Lenox Avenue, one has been shaking it up for a couple of years and the other is an ingénue, a new vintage in Harlem. Together they are bringing you a special event not to be missed.
Harlem Shake (@HarlemShakeNYC, 100 W. 124th St., 212-222-8300, www.harlemshakenyc.com) teamed up with the new wine store, Pompette (@PompetteWines, 420 Lenox Ave., 212-368-9463, www.pompettewines.com) to create the first Harlem Burger & Wine Fest. Saturday Feb. 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Harlem Shake, your favorite burgers and sandwiches, in slider form, will be paired with an array of hand-selected wines.
You will eat a selection of six Harlem Shake sliders, ranging from fried fish to their Hot Mess spicy beef burger, to the hot honey-fried chicken sandwich, to the bacon-wrapped Sonoran hotdog. Pompette does a wicked good job at marrying varietals, fruits and vintages that will have you wanting to expand your wine knowledge. The port chocolate milkshake with blackberries at the end will be the right punctuation to send you off into the night sated.
Be it a slightly belated Valentine’s Day date, a night out with your eating mates or a night of solo indulgence and making new friends, the Harlem Burger & Wine Fest will knock your socks off. Tickets are only $45 person and can be purchased at www.burgerandwinefestival.eventbrite.com.
See you there!
