Laniece Moore, 15, passed away while on a mission trip in Tanzania, Africa. She was part of a group that delivered school supplies and was helping to rebuild Nshara Ufundi Primary School and its soccer field in Moshi, Tanzania. Laniece drowned while in her hotel pool Feb. 19.
A student of Thurgood Marshall Academy in Harlem, Moore leaves behind her parents and an 8-year-old brother. Her parents, Lionel “Mo” Moore and Felita “Nicole” Moore, will receive her remains Thursday, Feb. 25. She will be laid to rest March 5. Arrangements will be released at a later date.
A classroom at the Tanzanian primary school has been dedicated in Moore’s memory.
