ImageNation is hosting a free Oscar Boycott Party in Harlem on Sunday, Feb. 29 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shrine World Music Lounge (1227 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd.).

The event is being held in response to several Black entertainers and activists, including Jada Pinkett-Smith, Spike Lee and Rev. Al Sharpton, calling for people to not watch the awards ceremony after the Academy didn’t nominate any people of color for the second year in a row.

There will be a special screening of the short films “DoDo TiTi” and “Black Art Legends.” People can vote for which films should have been included in the Academy Awards by going to The results wil be tallied at the event.

There is suggested donation and there will be a cash bar. The event is organized by, Ideacoil, Nadhege Ptah.
