Saturday, March 19, organizers of the March 4 Justice for the Wrongfully Incarcerated held their weekly planning session in preparation for the walk to Albany, N.Y., at the office of Assemblyman Keith Wright in the Harlem State Office Building, 163 W. 125th St., 9th Floor.

The goal of the march is to raise the public’s awareness about the disrupted lives and families around the many men, women and youth locked away for years, only later to be found to have committed no crime. Additionally the marchers will lobby the state legislators to craft new laws so that former incarcerated men and women and their families are holistically compensated.

Weekly planning sessions are Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, in the office of Assemblyman Wright. All support, input and volunteers are welcomed.

The march will start at the plaza of the State Office Building on Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016 and arrive in Albany Sunday, May 15. Rallies and lobbying continue into the week.
