This past Saturday, April 30, 2016, Mosque 7 in Harlem hosted a day-long Eat to Live Health Seminar, based on the teachings of the Nation of Islam’s Hon. Elijah Muhammad in his lessons and book “How to Eat to Live.” The community joined members of the mosque to learn about nutrition and how to grow and cook food. Speakers and presenters stressed the importance of healthy living and a strong, clean balanced diet. In an informative demonstration of how to build tamper-free hoop housing to grow vegetables, speakers taught the audience about the benefits of urban agriculture, how to be an urban farmer and how to grow your own food. Amsterdam News editor Nayaba Arinde (SquareCircles.org) spoke about Breast Cancer Awareness and her experience surviving and thriving after battling the disease. The informative seminar encouraged everyone to look at the best ways to maintain and promote their health.
