June 13, 2016, Community School District 7, the Art Class from Public School 18 donated 14 lovely works of art by its students to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, just across the street.

Milton Nunez, CEO of Lincoln, provided welcoming remarks and encouragement to the young artists, kindergarteners through fourth graders. “This artwork brings sunshine into our hospital,” stated Nunez directly to the children.

The event was attended and organized by The Fund for New York City Health + Hospitals, Executive Director Joe Schick and Angela Lyles, director of grants development, and the United Federation of Teachers. The UFT’s Ina Babb-Henry, Marisol Pena and Mia Martinez pulled all works of art together for display, with Public School 18.

“The children reached for the stars and brought them to Lincoln,” commented Schick. The Fund has sponsored several projects at Lincoln, including the Guns Down, Life Up anti-violence program andStairwell Murals to encourage staff to take the stairs.
