Anyone who enjoys authentic Caribbean food needs to run—not walk—to get tickets to the sixth annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival. This fabulous festival will take place Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, N.Y. The fun-filled festival will go from noon to 8 p.m. This year’s festival theme is “Get a Taste of Fun!” Organizers want people of different ethnicities to enjoy the festival. At this event, there will be activities such as the annual Grace Jerk Cook-Off, culinary demonstrations, the Western Union Cultural Stage and the Kidz Zone. The cultural performances will be hosted by Dahved Levy, radio personality on 107.5 FM WBLS, DJ Platinum Kids and MC Dubbmaster Chris. Food Network’s “Chopped” champion, Chef Andre, will be there as well. Live music will be performed by internationally acclaimed Reggae Ambassadors, Third World Gyptian, Dexta Daps, Rupee and Ikaya Pretty Boy Floyd. Tifa will be on hand to perform their popular hit, “Jealous Ova.”
It is always a really great event, with families, local people and fans who travel from across the nation and even the Caribbean. Come and eat, enjoy the good music and take in the great Jamaican-flavored atmosphere.
