Sunday July 31 to Aug. 2, 2016, the Mt. Morris Ascension Presbyterian Church hosted a three-day judicial violence symposium. The keynote speaker was Danny Glover, actor, film producer and activist for social justice.
Organizers stated, “Judicial violence is defined as the state using its authority, law enforcement and judicial arms to inflict immoral, illegal, unwarranted and violent actions upon its citizens, particularly those of color. This is an moral imperative that has to be addressed to stem this tide of escalating violence.”
