A benefit concert to save the threes in the rain forest will take place this weekend in the middle of the Amazon jungle.
And you can watch it online.
Called “Amazonia Live: Rock in Rio” the concert will feature artists like the legendary Placido Domingo and Brazilian artist Ivete Sangalo (who’s considered the Celine Dion of South America) and will be held this Saturday at 6 PM EST in the middle of the Amazon on a barge in the shape of a leaf. The concert will also feature a symphony.
According to the concert’s website, the goal of the show is to “engage a global audience to benefit the reforestation of one of Earth’s most precious resources — the rainforest — by planting over one million trees”
This concert is part of Rock In Rio’s 15-year engagement with local and global charities leveraging their reputation for putting on music festival to raise money for local and global causes. So far, its shows have raised over $5 million, which has led to the planting of over 1 million trees in the Amazon.
For those who want to watch the show you can head over to www.livexlive.com on Saturday night. If you want to donate, you can hit up www.crowdrise.com/livexlive.
