The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem recently hosted the “Men’s Health and Wellness Day” in an effort to encourage more Black men to seek healthcare services.
Attendees learned about cutting edge developments in medicine and health care. Topics covered included finding a primary care physician, mental and emotional health and spirituality of caregiving. Breakfast will be served.
The “Men’s Health and Wellness Day” was held in honor of late deacon and educator Dr. Joe L. Jackson who died of cancer in April at age 81. Jackson, was an advocate for men’s health and encouraging Black men to see doctors.
