The People’s Organization for Progress hosted its 37th consecutive Justice Monday protest this week, demanding federal intervention into New Jersey’s four recent police shooting cases, at the Federal Building in Newark.
Demonstrators continued their fight for justice in the cases of Abdul Kamal, Kashad Ashford, Jerame Reid and Radazz Hearns. This week’s rally also spotlighted the recent police killings of Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Okla., and of Keith Scott in Charlotte, N.C.
Monday, Oct. 24, P.O.P. is bringing its Justice Mondays rallies to the morning rush hour. Participants will assemble at the Federal Building at 7 a.m.
Later this month, P.O.P. is hosting its annual Table Talk with P.O.P. benefit at St. Peter Claver RC Church, located at 56 Elmwood Ave. in Montclair, Oct. 21 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “We Must Vote: Honor the Past, Impact the Future, Protect the Future.”
