Funeral services and a viewing are set for Friday and Saturday for late Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson who passed away Sunday.
The viewing will take place on Friday, Oct. 14 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. Both services will take place at the Christian Cultural Center (12020 Flatlands Avenue, Brooklyn).
State Sen. Jesse Hamilton announced a special community send-off for Thompson taking place at Sanders Studios NYC (521-525 Waverly Avenue, Brooklyn) on Thursday, Oct. 13 starting at 5 p.m. Dee Bailey, Sanders Studios & Friends are organizing the event.
Thompson passed away from cancer just five days after announcing he was stepping down to battle the illness. He was 50-year-old. Thompson is survived by his wife, Lu-Shawn, two children ages 12 and 9 and his mother and father.
