In the spirit of October being the month of Breast Cancer Awareness, Fusion East restaurant is hosting their own brunch Sunday, Oct. 30. Fusion East is a new Caribbean and soul food restaurant located in East New York. This upscale restaurant is only a few months old, yet it is already becoming well-known around the East New York community. Andrew D. Walcott, owner and founder of Fusion East, grew up in Brooklyn and said that he has always overcome any obstacles put in his way. The Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch will be one of many community-focused events the restaurant will be catering. During Sunday brunch, Nayaba Arinde, Amsterdam News editor and founder of the breast cancer support group Square Circles, will be honored. The brunch will go from 11a.m. until 4 p.m. and will cost $35 for admission. The restaurant will be serving their brunch specialities: shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles and mimosas.
