Anti-violence organization Harlem Mothers Stop Another Violent End is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this week with an awards dinner.
The event, “10 Years of Healing, Hope and Honor,” takes place Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building. Actor/producer Khalil Kain and Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. chairperson the Rev. Ronald Sullivan are serving as hosts.
Honorees for the anniversary are Ella B. Thomas, Assemblyman Keith Wright, Councilwoman Inez Dickens, NYPD Assistant Commissioner Kevin G. O’Conner, NYPD Detective Norman Adams, State Committeewoman Yasim Cornelius and the Rev. Vernon Williams.
Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. was formed in 2006 by Jackie Rowe-Adams, who lost two sons to gun violence. Through the years the organization has offered support and services to families who have lost loved ones to violence, along with serving as an anti-violence advocacy group.
