Former City Council Member Priscilla A. Wooten died Feb. 15. Serving the City Council from 1982 to 2011, she represented Brooklyn’s 42nd District. She was 80 years old.
During her tenure, she served on a number of committees, including Parks, Recreational and Cultural Affairs; Youth; Health; Women; International Intergroup Relations; Civil Service and Labor; and Consumer Affairs. Wooten served as chairperson of the Select Committee on Special Education and the Committee on Education.
A host of family, friends and professional colleagues mourn her loss. The funeral service is set for Thursday, Feb. 23, at Grace Baptist Church in Brooklyn.
