Students around the nation are always looking for money to pay for college. Here are some scholarships for African-American students with upcoming deadlines.

ABA Diversity Scholarship: $2,500

The Diversity Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of traditionally underrepresented groups in the management and operation ranks of the transportation, travel, and tourism industry. Click here for more information.

ACHE Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship: Up to $5,000

The Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives established this scholarship in honor of Albert W. Dent, the first African-American Fellow of ACHE. This scholarship is offered to provide financial aid to minority students in healthcare management graduate programs to help offset tuition costs, student loans and expenses. Offered annually, the Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship is designated for minority students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program. Actuarial Diversity Scholarship: $4,000

The Actuarial Diversity Scholarship promotes diversity within the profession through an annual scholarship program for Black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American and Pacific Islander students. Click here for more information.

Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship Program: $5,000

Brown and Caldwell supports organizations like the Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers and the Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers. The company has set up a Minority Scholarship Program to help minority groups succeed in the environmental engineering industry. Click here for more information.

Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Scholarship Program: $5,000

The Coca-Cola Pay It Forward program returns with a stronger focus on African American moms and their impact on the academic success of their teens. Building on the initiative’s accomplishments, this year’s program will offer up to 20 winners each a $5,000 scholarship and an invitation to the all-new Coca-Cola Pay It Forward Academy. Herman J. Neal Scholarship: $4,000

This scholarship fund supports African-American students in their pursuit of an accounting education and the CPA designation. The Herman J. Neal scholarship fund provides scholarships to African-American accounting students who show significant potential to become CPAs and demonstrate achievement as well as financial need. These scholarships support students with their junior or senior year, or with the additional year, (30 semester hours) needed to sit for the CPA Exam which can include graduate studies. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Fellows Toyota Scholarship: $25,000

Toyota is partnering with Rainbow PUSH Excel to provide $75,000 scholarships to 10 deserving engineering and business college students through the Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Fellows Scholarships. In addition to the scholarships, Toyota is offering these students the opportunity to work at one of their facilities across North America to gain valuable real-world experience, as well as be paired with mentors from Toyota management to help guide them through the next three years of college. Mae & Mary Scholarship Fund: Varies

The Mae & Mary Scholarship Fund’s mission is to financially assist and to empower young people to experience their unlimited potential through education. NSHSS STEM Scholarships: $1,000

The NSHSS Foundation provides STEM scholarships for underrepresented groups in order to help reduce financial barriers for those with academic and leadership potential and the desire to pursue STEM careers.
