A Pennsville, N.J., police officer is under fire and being pressured to resign after reports surface that he allegedly exposed himself to two children in a bathroom.
Reports indicate that Anthony J. Minguez, 31, who is an officer with the Pennsville Police Department, has been charged with lewdness and disorderly conduct after he allegedly exposed his genitals to a 13-year-old boy and 9-year-old boy at an Applebee’s restaurant bathroom.
While off-duty at the time of the incident, as of March 30, Minguez remains on the force. Officials say the case has been forwarded to an Internal Affairs investigator and county prosecutor for review.
At a news conference last week, activist Walter Hudson, joined by the mother of the two boys, Justina Davis, said the community is demanding that Minguez resign immediately.
“The family and I are outraged at the reprehensible behavior of Officer Minguez,” Hudson said. “This officer is supposed to govern himself at a high standard, yet he sought gratification by exposing himself to young children. He must resign now.”
