The New York Urban League Young Professionals recently hosted their annual REBIRTH! Event. This year’s theme was “An Ode to Black Hollywood,” celebrating the contributions of African-American entertainers who shaped the Harlem Renaissance and Hollywood in the early 1900s. The evening featured live musical performance from R&B singer Denzel White and a tap tribute by professional tap educator at Broadway Dance Center, Jason E. Bernard. All proceeds from the event benefit the Whitney M. Young Scholarship Fund for high school seniors who excel academically and demonstrate a commitment to community service.
