For spring/summer 2018, color trends are exceptional in active and swimwear markets. According to Design Options Inc., the color forecasting firm that brings Southern California’s unique aesthetic to the world, women’s active wear and contemporary swimwear markets are showing
themed color trends.
In swimwear, shades of blues, oranges and sea greens look glorious together, as do pinks, purples, aqua blues, lime greens and even yellows. These color themes make the right moves in swimwear, jeans, jackets, shorts, belts, bags and hats.
In the swim styles from Miami, 6 Shore Road, launched in 2010 and designed by Pooja Kharbanda, created a spectacular swim collection for summer ’17. One-piece swim styles are in with many cut-outs. Swimwear designer Kharbanda is a global nomad, style maven and beach maven. Born in New Delhi, Kharbanda studied at Parson’s School of Design. Her fashion career was inspired by her mother, an Indian woman who dressed in bikini tops under saris with polka dot bottoms in the 1970s. Her mother showed her midriff with high-top bows and completed her stylish look
with sunglasses.
During her teens, Kharbanda traveled to Hong Kong and Panama. Her favorite weekends were spent on the beach with family and friends. Her summer ’17 swim collection was inspired by the waves, sand and sea.
Beach Beauty Tips: Protect your hair and skin from the sun. Don’t forget your sun block! Drink lots of water. Wear hats and natural fabrics that are lightweight. After swimming, be sure to rinse the chlorine or salt water out of your hair. The more leave-in conditioner in your hair the better, especially if you are at the beach! Enjoy summer.
