Wednesday, March 14, students across the country participated in the National School Walkout against gun violence in schools. The day marked one month since the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., where a gunman killed 17 people. Students, teachers, school administrators, parents and allies took part in the walkout for 17 minutes at 10 a.m. across every time zone. The national walkout was organized by Women’s March Youth EMPOWER.
